Sustainability Initiatives

Carbon Footprint Report (4.1.1)

A product carbon footprint is important information that enables us to understand environmental impacts by a product. We use PAIA (Product Attribute to Impact Algorithm) to perform analysis of product carbon footprint.
It is a streamlined life cycle assessment tool used globally that aims to provide an efficient and cost-effective estimate of the carbon impact of a product class.

Product Life Cycle Assessment (4.1.4)

We carry out Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) aiming to connect to improve the environmental impact by analysis and assess the environmental impact on environment at each stage of the LCA from resource extraction, manufacturing and transport to disposal.
Utilizing LCA initiative, we are also working for obtaining environmental labels such as EcoLeaf.
Some representative models has obtained EcoLeaf as an environmental labeling system, certified by the Sustainable Management Promotion Organization (SuMPO).
The results of LCA of each product can be found below.

Greenhouse Gas Emissions with Products Logistics (4.1.3)

We have started activities to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in product logistics.
We are working to understand GHG emissions in product logistics and promote the reduction environmental impact.

We calculated the amount of GHG emissions generated during the transport from our factory to the location of purchase in USA and Canada.

  • Period: April, 2024 to Mar, 2025
  • Calculation method: ISO14083:2023
  • Fuel emission factors: GLEC Framework version 3.1, Well-to-Wheel (WTW)
  • Applicable products: Notebook and Tablet

* GHG emissions in product logistics have been verified by the third-party, Sustainable Management Promotion Organization (SuMPO).

We aim to reduce GHG emissions in transport by 5% by fiscal year 2030 compared to fiscal year 2024.

The results of fiscal year 2024 can be found here. The results have been verified by the third-party organization.

Product Chemical Transparency (IEC 62474) (6.2.2)

We disclose the IEC 62474 declarable substances and substance groups contained in our products at or above the reporting thresholds.
