These questions and answers apply to displays made between 2004 (7 Series) and 2012 (50 Series).

Q1 How are these different from household models?

[PDP]
The front glass is stronger, and some models are equipped with a function that enables reduction of screen burn-in. The displays do not come with a TV tuner. Also, with the exception of certain models, they do not come with speakers.

[LCD]
The displays do not come with a TV tuner. With the exception of certain models, they do not come with speakers. Unlike general-use household models, they are capable of prolonged continuous operation.

Q2 I am looking for a display that comes with a touch panel.

[PDP]
Panasonic offers a combination of an external optional touch panel and the professional-use PH Series or PF Series displays or PB2 Series Interactive Plasma display. There is also the PB Series with interactive features using an electronic pen.

[LCD]
The LFT Series is compatible with touch panel functions.

Q4 Does the display conform to PSE? Where is the rating label attached to the display?

Yes, it conforms to PSE. The rating label is affixed to the back of the display.

Q5 What is the model number of the function board?

Q6 Is a plasma display affected by magnetism or magnetic forces?

No, it isn’t.

Q7 What is the PJ Link password?

The password is: Panasonic
Note that the “P” must be capitalized.

Q8 Does the display have a dual-screen function?

The following models are capable of dual-screen display.

Q9 Is there an HDMI terminal?

[PDP]
The 20 Series and later models come with HDMI terminal as a standard feature, but for the 12 Series and earlier, an optional function board must be added.

[LCD]
HDMI terminal is a standard feature.

Q10 Are there built-in speakers?

The following models have built-in speakers.

TH-103PB1 / TH-85PB1 are equipped with built-in speakers. For other models, speakers are an option sold separately.

[LCD]
The LRV50 Series, LF30 Series, LRV30 Series, LF25 Series, and LF20 Series are equipped with built-in speakers.

Q11 What touch panels are compatible with Windows® 7?

[PDP]
The externally mounted (separately sold) TY-TP&●●P30K and TY-TP●●P10S are compatible with Windows® 7.

[LCD]
The LFT series with built-in touch panel is compatible with Windows® 7.

Q12 What can I do to fix image displacement that occurs after a certain length of time?

[PDP]
The image slipping out of place is a result of the NANODRIFT saver. This is a feature that moves the screen position slightly so as to reduce screen burn-in.

* This function cannot be turned off on the PB1 Series, UX1 Series, VX200 Series, 50 Series, and 30 Series.

* It can be turned off on the PF20 Series, PH20 Series, and PF12 Series.

[LCD]
The image slipping out of place is a result of the “Image Position Movement” setting. This is a feature that moves the screen position slightly so as to reduce screen burn-in. Image Position Movement can be turned off on the Initial Settings menu.

Q13 3D glass: Is the display compatible with other companies’ inexpensive 3D glasses?

The display is not compatible with other companies’ products.

Q14 What is the reflection reduction filter made of?

[PDP]
It is made of acrylic resin.

Q15 The image appears magnified on the screen.

It is possible that the Multi-Screen setting is on. If so, turn it off. Otherwise, verify the image status with the ASPECT button on the remote control, or when there is a 1080i/1080P signal, try switching to 1:1 pixel mode. When signal is 525i/525P/720p verify the OVER SCAN settings.

Q16 The HDMI-input image is not displayed at the correct size.

When there is a 1080i/1080P signal, try switching to 1:1 pixel mode. When signal is 525i/525P/720p verify the OVER SCAN settings.

Q17 How do I switch from dual-screen display back to single-screen mode?

You can switch modes with the “MULTI PIP” button on the remote control.

Q18 I would like to switch the menu from Japanese to another language.

Press the SETUP button on the remote control and change the OSD language setting.

* The Options menu is in English only.

Q19 How do I switch from RGB to Component mode?

Press the SETUP button on the menu and change the setting in the Signal menu to Component.

Q20 With composite input, the screen gets stretched out. How do I fix this?

This is probably due to the horizontal-vertical ratio. The ratio can be changed using the ASPECT button on the remote control.

Q21 Part of the screen is completely dark.

  • It is possible that the display is in dual-screen mode and there is no input from one side. Try turning off dual-screen mode.
    →You can switch out of dual-screen mode with the “MULTI PIP” button on the remote control.
  • It also may be due to the horizontal-vertical ratio. The ratio can be changed using the ASPECT button on the remote control.

Q22 How do I display the Options menu?

(1) Press the SETUP button on the remote control.
(2) Use the up-down buttons to select OSD language.
(3) Press the Enter button in the center of the directional arrows button and hold it down for 3 seconds.
→The Options menu is displayed.

Q23 How can I change the color setting of the side panel from gray to black?

From Initial Settings, select Long Life Settings to change the Side Panel Settings. After setting it, please select from Apply to Current Input Only or Apply to All Inputs.

Q24 The image is dark. How can I make it brighter?

[PDP]
Press the PICTURE button on the remote control, and on the Picture Adjustments menu, adjust to your desired brightness from the Picture Mode and Brightness, etc.

Q25 How can I switch back to the factory settings?

(1) Press the SETUP button on the remote control.
(2) Use the up-down buttons to select OSD language.
(3) Press the Enter button in the center of the directional arrows button and hold it down for 3 seconds.
(4) Use the up-down buttons to select Shipping.
(5) Use the right button to select YES.
(6) After waiting for 10 seconds or more, turn the display power on using the switch on the display.
The above procedure turns Set up, Picture Adjustments, Sound Adjustment, Adjusting POS./SIZE, etc. settings back to the factory settings.

Q26 The screen display has a side cut that is gray. How can I switch to full-screen mode?

When setting with the remote control:  Press the ASPECT key several times to change the setting.
When setting with the display itself:  Press the ENTER key several times to change the setting.

Q27 I want to film the display with a studio camera. Is there any way I can change the color temperature?

This can be done by switching Studio W/B to ON on the Options menu.

* It is effective when the Color Temperature is set to Cool on Picture Quality Adjustment.

Q28 When I connect a PC, the picture becomes disrupted. How can I overcome this issue?

Try the following procedure:
(1) Use a different input cable.
(2) Try connecting a different PC and see whether the same thing happens.
(3) See whether the same thing happens when a different input is used.
If the picture is not improved, it may be trouble with the display itself.

Q29 Which inputs are compatible when displaying 2K1K picture?

[PDP]
A 2K1K signal can be input with the Dual Link HD-SDI board.

Q30 When the PC and monitor are connected, is there a function that enables the monitor to turn to remote control OFF mode automatically when the PC shuts down?

There are: PC Power Management (DPMS function), DVI-D Power Management, and No Signal Power Off features.

* PC Power Management (DPMS function) and DVI-D Power Management are effective with PC IN or DVI-D input. With HDMI input or network input, these functions do not exist. Also, these settings may not be possible with an option board.

* The No Signal Power Off feature turns the power off if there is no signal received for approximately 10 minutes.
