Q1 Is the display capable of 24-hour continuous operation? SQE1

Yes, it is.

Q2 Which hardware should I select to hang the display on the wall? SQE1

A wall-mounted bracket manufactured by Panasonic is not available as an option for the SQE1 series. Use a general-purpose mounting bracket made by a hardware manufacturer which conforms to VESA specifications.

Q3 What is the screw diameter and depth of the holes for wall-mounting on the back of the display? SQE1

Q4 Is there a wall-mounted bracket arm that can be used to pull out the display? SQE1

Wall-mounted bracket made by Panasonic is not available as an option for SQE1 series. Please use a general-purpose mounting bracket, made by a hardware manufacturer, which conforms to VESA specifications.

Not included with TH-98SQE1, TH-86SQE1, TH-75SQE1 and TH-65SQE1. Included only with TH-55SQE1, TH-49SQE1 and TH-43SQE1.

Q6 Is this display compatible with vertical installation? SQE1

Yes, it is compatible with vertical installation.
Please be sure to install it with the side terminal block on the right side

* Installing in different directions may cause heat to build up inside, resulting in fire or malfunction.

Q7 Are there any settings required when installing it vertically? SQE1

The OSD can be rotated as required.

This can be changed in Menu ⇒ Settings ⇒ Signage ⇒ Control Settings ⇒ Display Installation. Set to "Vertical 2". The OSD will be rotated 90 degrees clockwise making the display easier to see when installed vertically.

* Input video image will not be rotated.

Q8 Is there a vertical installation stand? SQE1

There is no genuine optional stand for vertical installation of the SQE1 series.
Please use a general-purpose mouting bracket, made by a hardware manufacturer, which conforms to VESA specifications.

Q9 Can the display be mounted with a forward or backward tilt? SQE1

When mounted horizontally/vertically, the display can be tilted 20° forward.

* Tilting the display backward is not supported.

Q10 Can the display be laid flat, like a table? SQE1

No, it is not.

Q11 Around how much space is required during installation? SQE1

There are no regulations.

The upper limit of the guaranteed operating temperature of this display is 40°C.
Install a cooling fan and vent, and ensure proper ventilation to keep the ambient temperature around the display including the front of the LCD panel at 40°C or lower.

* If the temperature inside the case or cabinet cannot be ascertained, install the display by maintaining a distance of 70 mm or more at the top and 50 mm or more at the bottom, left, right, and rear of the display, and use the display in an environment where the ambient temperature of the case or cabinet is 35°C or less.

Q12 Is there another installation method other than the default mounting holes? SQE1

No, it cannot.

Q13Is any part of the installation bracket protruding beyond the mounting surface?SQE1

The upper back of the main unit protrudes out from the mounting surface only in the 55/49/43V models.
Use the spacers provided to prevent interference with the installation surface and the installation brackets.

Q14 Is the wall mounting installation standard compliant with the VESA standard? SQE1

Yes, it is compliant with the VESA standard.

Q15 How much of a gap is required when attaching glass to the front of the LCD panel? SQE1

There is no specific gap restriction, but the LCD panel and glass cannot be adhered.
The upper limit of the guaranteed operating temperature of this display is 40°C.
Install a cooling fan and vent and ensure proper ventilation to keep the ambient temperature around the display including the front of the LCD panel at 40°C or lower.

Q16 Is there a CAD drawing? SQE1

Q17 Can I use a commercially available USB memory? SQE1

  • It is compatible with a commercially available USB memory. (Not compatible with those with a security function or write-protection function.)
  • File system: FAT32 or NTFS
  • Only a single partition configuration is supported.
  • The maximum USB memory size; FAT32: 32GB NTFS: 256TB (As of 2022)

Q18 What is the maximum memory size of the USB memory to be used? SQE1

It varies depending on the file system.

32 GB in the case of FAT32.
256 TB in the case of NTFS (As of 2022).

Q19 What formats are supported by the USB flash drives to be used? SQE1

FAT32 and NTFS.

Q20 What is the maximum file size of the files that can be handled with the USB media file playback function? SQE1

It varies depending on the file system.

32 GB in the case of FAT32.
256 TB in the case of NTFS (As of 2022).

Q21 Is there a limit to the number of files that can be played on a USB media player? SQE1

1000 files.

Q22 Can still images and videos on USB memory be played automatically? SQE1

Yes, images and videos can be played (maximum 1000 files)

Set Menu ⇒ Settings ⇒ System ⇒ Miscellaneous ⇒ USB Auto Play to "ON", and place the files to be played in the root directory of the USB memory.

Still images will be displayed for approximately 9 seconds.
Videos will be played for the duration of the video.
The playback time cannot be changed.
A black screen will be inserted between files for approximately 1 second.

Q23 Can the USB media file playback function automatically play still images and videos? SQE1

Set Menu ⇒ Settings ⇒ System ⇒ Miscellaneous ⇒ USB Auto Play to "ON", and place supported still images and video files in the root directory of the USB memory. The files will be played sequentially in order of file name, and on reaching reach the end, the files will be played again from the beginning.

Specific files in the root directory can also be played automatically. This can be achieved by creating a playlist named "playlist.txt" and placing it in the root directory. The files will be played in the order they are listed, and on reaching reach the end, they will be played again from the beginning. Please note that playlists do not support file names in Japanese.

Still images will be displayed for approximately 9 seconds.
Videos will be played for the duration of the video.
The playback time cannot be changed.

Q24 I cannot play files with the USB media file playback function. SQE1

Check the playback file specifications.
(Playback of some files may not be possible even if they are supported)

* Download the User's Manual and refer to Supported Media Formats From USB.

Q25 Can I use USB media file playback function to play parts of video and music files? SQE1

No, it cannot.

Q26 Can the playback duration be set to an arbitrary value when playing a still image file using USB media file playback? SQE1

No.
Playback time is approximately 9 seconds for still images.
A black screen will be inserted between files for approximately 1 second.

Q27 Can audio from USB media file playback be output to the analog audio and digital audio output terminals? SQE1

Yes, audio can be output.

Q28 Can PDF files or PPT files be played with the USB media player? SQE1

No, it cannot.

Q29Can 4K video files be played with the Media Playback via USB Input playback function?
Can 4K video files be played with USB media file playback?

Yes, 4K video files can be played.

Q30 Does USB media file playback function support looping playback? SQE1

Yes, looping playback is supported.

Q31 When multiple still image files are played with a USB media player, will black images be inserted in the splices? SQE1

A black screen will be inserted between files for approximately 1 second.

Q32When USB media file playback function automatically plays files placed in the root directory, are the contents played in order of file name regardless of whether they are still images or videos?SQE1

If there is no playlist, the files will be played in the order of their file names.

Q33 Will the contents be played in the order in which they are listed in the playlist? SQE1

The files will be played according to the order in which they are listed, starting from the beginning of the file.

Q34 Which playlists can be selected when the input is set to USB in the schedule settings? SQE1

The following four can be selected.

Default: playlist.txt
PLAYLIST1: playlist1.txt
PLAYLIST2: playlist2.txt
PLAYLIST3: playlist3.txt

Q35 Can I use the USB viewer to play parts of video and music files? SQE1

No.

Q36 Can I use the USB viewer to play a video or music file from the middle? SQE1

Video files can be played from the middle.
By specifying the playback start time in the file, the file can be played from the middle.

Music files cannot be played from the middle.

Q37 Can I use the USB viewer to set the playback time of still images for a slideshow? SQE1

Yes.
Please follow the steps given below.

  • Open the operation panel while the still images are being displayed.
  • Select the gear icon on the right side of the control panel to open the settings menu.
  • Open USB viewer settings in the settings menu.
  • Select the Slide Show Interval setting.
    Intervals from 5 to 30 seconds can be selected in increments of 5 seconds.

Q38 I can't play files using the USB viewer. SQE1

Check the playback file specifications.
(Playback of some files may not be possible even if they are supported)

* Download the User's Manual and refer to Supported Media Formats From USB.

Q39 I want to configure startup settings for when the power is turned on. SQE1

Set these in the startup configuration in power return mode.
These settings can be configured from Menu ⇒ Settings ⇒ Signage ⇒ Startup Settings ⇒ Power Return Mode
Power return mode includes Last Memory, On, and Standby. These operate as follows.
Power-on mode includes Last Memory, On, and Standby. These operate as follows.
"Last memory" → The display will start up in the state it was in before the power was turned off.
"On" → The display will start up with the power On (power LED: green)
"Standby" → The display will start up with the power in Standby (power LED: red)

Q40 Does the display have a built-in web browser (Internet browser)? SQE1

Yes, the display has a built-in web browser.

Q41 Can PDF and PPT files be viewed with the built-in web browser (Internet browser)? SQE1

No.

Q42 Does the built-in web browser (Internet browser) support HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and WebSocket Protcol (RFC 6455)? SQE1

Yes, these formats are supported.
However, the recognition of all tags and elements defined by these standards is not guaranteed.

Q43 How can I prevent multiple displays from operating simultaneously when using the remote control? SQE1

Since there is no remote control ID function, please use a serial RS-232C or LAN connection to control the displays.

Q44 Can button operations on the remote controller be disabled? SQE1

All buttons except the power button can be disabled.
Set Menu ⇒ Settings ⇒ Signage ⇒ Control Settings ⇒ Remote Controller Lock to "On".

Q45 How do I unlock disabled button operations? SQE1

To turn this function "Off" and allow remote control operation, press Menu → 1 → 9 → 7 → 3 on the remote control. After the Signage menu appears, set Control Settings ⇒ Remote Controller Lock to "Off".

Q46 Is it okay to turn off the primary power with a circuit breaker without using the remote controller or the display’s power button? SQE1

Yes, that is not a problem.

* The changes may not be able to be saved when cutting the power immediately after changing the settings.

Q47 If the power suddenly goes off due to an electrical blackout, etc. and then goes back on, what state will the display be in when power is restored? SQE1

If the power is suddenly cut off due to a blackout, etc. and then is restored, assuming the display has the same settings as when it was shipped from the factory, the display should be in the same state it was in just before power went off.
The Initial Power Mode can be set to Last memory, On, or Standby. When power is restored, the display starts up as follows:
"Last memory" → Display starts up in the same state it was in just before power went off.
"On" → Display starts up in power On. (Power Indicator: green).
"Standby" → Display starts up in Standby mode (Power Indicator: red or orange).

Q48If the power supply is interrupted due to the power cord being unplugged or a power outage, for how many days will the date and time information be maintained?SQE1

It will be maintained for 14 days.

Q49 Is it possible to set the power to turn on or off at a particular time on a certain day of the week? SQE1

Up to four different programs/schedules can be registered in Scheduler Settings.
Go to Menu ⇒ Settings ⇒ Signage ⇒ Scheduler Settings.

Q50 Does my product support timer settings? SQE1

Yes it does.

Q51 Is it possible to set the "Off" time before setting the "On" time in Scheduler Settings? SQE1

No.
The scheduler is designed such that the "Off" time cannot be set earlier than the "On" time.
As an example, for [Input video signal from the HDMI 1 input terminal, power on at 5:00 am and power off at 1:00 am on weekdays (Monday to Friday)], use two of the four schedules with the following settings.

(1) On: 05:00 / Off: Not set (not checked)
/Input: HDMI1 / Check Monday-Friday
(2) On: 00:00 / Off: 01:00
/Input: Last input or HDMI1 / Check Tuesday-Saturday

If the power on time of (2) is reached while the power of (1) is still on, the power will be turned off at the power-off time of (2) because they refer to the same input.

Q52 Is it possible to restore the PIN to its initial value? SQE1

If you do not know the PIN, contact the dealer where you purchased the product for repair.

Q53 Is it possible to change the PIN? SQE1

Restore the factory default settings in the Signage menu, and change the value from the PIN setting screen, as you did during the initial power cycle.

* Note that all settings, not just the PIN, will be restored to factory defaults.

Q54 Is it possible to project enlarged images from multiple displays arranged horizontally and vertically as one group? SQE1

Yes.
Go to Menu ⇒ Settings ⇒ Signage ⇒ Video Wall Settings.

Q55 The remote controller is not responsive. SQE1

Please check the following.

  • Check whether any obstacle is present between the external IR receiver of the main unit and the remote control.
  • Check whether the remote control is being operated from the front of the external IR receiver or in the line of sight of the external IR receiver.
  • Check whether the remote control is being operated by pointing it directly at the external IR receiver of the main unit, or if it is being operated within about 7 m from the front of the remote control receiver. Depending on the angle, the operable distance may be shorter.
  • Check whether the external IR receiver is being exposed to an outdoor light or strong fluoroscent light.

Q56How far is the reach of the remote control?SQE1

When operating the remote control directly toward the remote control receiver of the main unit, operate within about 7 m from the front of the remote control receiver. The operable distance may become shorter depending on the angle.

Q57The connecting cables (HDMI, DVI, etc.) and the USB memory are touching the adjacent cables and the rear cabinet and cannot be connected.SQE1

Certain shaped plugs may touch the surrounding parts of the adjacent connection cable plugs or the back cover, and cannot be used.
Use a connecting cable with a plug size that fits the attachment.
Confirm the drawing from the specifications.

Q58I want to check the dimensions of the terminal area.SQE1

Q59Is it equipped with a composite video input (VIDEO IN) terminal?SQE1

No, it is not equipped on the display.

Q60How many HDMI input terminals are there?SQE1

There are four HDMI input terminals.

Q61How many USB terminals are there?SQE1

There are four USB terminals.

Q62Are the USB terminals shape TYPE A?SQE1

There are three USB Type-A terminals and one USB Type-C terminal.

Q63Is the USB terminal compatible with USB3.0?SQE1

No, it is not compatible. It is compatible with USB2.0.

Q64What is the power supply capacity of the USB terminal?SQE1

TYPE A : DC 5V/ max. 0.5A
TYPE C : DC 5V/ mac. 1.5A

Q65Can the display supply DC5V from a USB on standby mode?SQE1

Yes it can.
Set Menu ⇒ Settings ⇒ Signage ⇒ Power Up Settings ⇒ Power Mode to "Reactive".

* In Reactive mode, standby power consumption will increase.

Q66Is it possible to input and display video signals from the USB-C terminal?SQE1

Yes.
If the video device outputting the video signal supports the DisplayPort alternative mode, the unit can display the video signal as long as it is one of the video signals described in preset signals in the Operating Instructions.

Q67Since the display has multiple USB terminals, is it possible to insert multiple USB memory devices and switch between them?SQE1

No.
Only the USB memory that has been recognized by the unit can be used from among multiple inserted USB memory devices.
If you remove one of two inserted USB memory devices, the USB memory that remains inserted will be recognized.

Q68Can I copy my settings to other displays?SQE1

Yes.
The settings on the main display unit can be copied to other displays using a USB memory device. This saves time when setting up multiple display units.

Q69Can I copy my settings even if the display sizes are different?SQE1

As long as the software version of the source and destination are the same, settings can be copied even if display sizes are different.

Q70What settings can be copied?SQE1

Settings in Video, Audio, Network, Signage, and System can be copied.

* Some settings are not supported.

Q71How do I make the display automatically switch to an input signal that is inserted when the unit is already powered on?SQE1

The display can automatically switch to a currently active HDMI input when an input is received from the HDMI 1 or HDMI 2 terminals.

Set Menu ⇒ Settings ⇒ Signage ⇒ Control Settings ⇒ Automatic Input Switching to "Enable"
Note that this function is available only for HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 terminals.

Q72Can the display automatically display video when it receives an input signal?SQE1

Yes. Use an HDMI terminal.

If you are using HDMI 1,
Set Menu ⇒ Settings ⇒ Signage ⇒ Power Up Settings ⇒ HDMI1 Power Management to "Enable".

If you are using HDMI 2, HDMI 3, or HDMI 4,
Set Menu ⇒ Settings ⇒ Signage ⇒ Power Up Settings ⇒ HDMI2-HDMI3-HDMI4 Power Management to "Enable".
However, this will not result in input switching. Video will be displayed only when a video signal is input to the last connected input.

Q73Can the display automatically turn off the power (enter standby mode) when there is no signal?SQE1

Yes.
Set Menu ⇒ Settings ⇒ Signage ⇒ Control Settings ⇒ No-Signal Auto Off to "Enable".

Q74How long does the display take to determine that there is no signal?SQE1

This depends on the No-signal Determination Time.
Set the duration with Menu ⇒ Settings ⇒ Signage ⇒ Control Settings ⇒ No-signal Determination Time
A duration from 5 to 60 seconds can be set in increments of 5 seconds.

Q75How long does it take for the No Signal Auto-off to be activated once the display determines that there is no signal?SQE1

It depends on the No-signal Auto Off Time.
Set the duration with Menu ⇒ Settings ⇒ Signage ⇒ Control Settings ⇒ No-signal Auto Off Time.
A duration of 0, 10, 60, 120, 180, 240, 300, 360, 420, 480, 540, 600 or 3600 seconds can be selected.

* Note that this setting is not available when "No Signal" is set to "Input Search".

Q76Can the time be displayed at all times?SQE1

No.
When the recall button of the remote controller is pressed, it will be displayed for five seconds before it disappears.

Q77How do I check the software version?SQE1

Software update canbe checked by going to Menu⇒ Settings ⇒ Signage ⇒ Device Information ⇒ Software update.

Q78Is it possible to check the total usage time of the display?SQE1

Usage time can be checked by going to Menu ⇒ Settings ⇒ Signage ⇒ Device Information ⇒ Usage Time.

Q79Is the panel surface treatment a non-glare treatment?SQE1

The surface treatment is generally called non-glare with anti-glare specifications.

Please use a high-speed HDMI cable that conforms to the HDMI standard.
