Below are answers to frequently asked questions about PT-LB426 Series projectors.

Does this product have Direct Power Off that allows the power to be turned off immediately after use?

Yes, it does.

What is the magnification of the digital zoom?

It ranges from 1x to 3x. Note that the digital zoom function can only be used when inputting RGB or HDMI signals for still images.

Do you sell a carry bag for storing and carrying the projector?

We don’t currently sell an optional carry bag for this product. Please consider a suitable third-party alternative.

What is the maximum number of displayable colors?

This projector supports a maximum 16,770,000 colors.

Does this projector have a lens-shift function?

No, it doesn’t.

Do you sell a lens cap as an option?

We do not sell an optional lens cap for this product at this time.

The <ON (G) / STANDBY (R)> power indicator is blinking green. Is something wrong?

No, there is nothing wrong. The power indicator is blinking green for one of the following reasons:

(1) The projector is on, but the lamp is off. The projector is in a Ready condition with Power Management function activated. In this case, the indicator blinks in a 2.0 to 2.0-second on/off cycle.

(2) The projector is in the process of powering up the lamp. In this case, the indicator blinks in a 0.5 to 0.5-second on/off cycle. The image will be projected after a brief interval.

The <ON (G) / STANDBY (R)> power indicator is lit orange. Is something wrong?

No, there is nothing wrong. Orange indicates that the projector is preparing to turn off the power. After a while, the power will turn off and the projector will enter Standby mode. For details, please see Operation Manual: Chapter 3 – Basic Operations – Powering on/off – Power indicator here.

The <WARNING> indicator is lit red. Is something wrong?

A red <WARNING> light indicates that the inside of the projector unit is getting too hot. Please check if:

  • The air intake/exhaust ports are obstructed (clear if necessary)
  • The unit is being used within the specified operating range of 5–40 °C (41–104 °F). When used at altitudes between 1,400 m (4,593 ft) and 2,700 m (8,858 ft) above sea level, the operating temperature range becomes 5–35 °C (41–95 °F)
  • [PROJECTOR SETUP] -> [HIGH ALTITUDE MODE] in the main menu is set correctly
  • The projector is not being used at an altitude exceeding 2,700 m (8,858 ft) above sea level.

If the <WARNING> indicator is still lit after confirming the above, turn the MAIN POWER switch to OFF and ask your dealer or point of purchase

Can the projector be installed using ET-PKL100S/ET-PKL100H alone?

ET-PKL420B ceiling mount bracket attachment is required when using ET-PKL100S/ET-PKL100H.

Is it possible to disable image display without turning off the power?

Yes, you can temporarily disable image display and audio by pressing the AV MUTE button on the remote control or the projector’s control panel. Audio will be unmuted and the image displayed when the AV MUTE button is pressed again.

Is it possible to mute audio output?

Yes, you can mute audio playback by pressing the MUTE button on the remote control. Audio will be unmuted when the MUTE button is pressed again.

Is it possible to pause the projection screen and mute the audio?

You can pause the projection screen temporarily and mute the audio by pressing the FREEZE button on the remote control. [FREEZE] is displayed on the lower left of the screen when this action is performed. Playback resumes when the button is pressed again.

Does the projector support DIGITAL LINK?

No, it does not.

[FILTER COUNTER has reached the set time] is displayed on the projection screen. What does this mean?

This message indicates that the filter counter has reached the time set in [PROJECTOR SETUP] -> [FILTER COUNTER] -> [TIMER], prompting you to clean the air filter. Please switch off the projector and clean the air filter unit. You can clear this message by selecting [OK] in [PROJECTOR SETUP] -> [FILTER COUNTER] -> [FILTER COUNTER RESET] and pressing the ENTER button. Is it possible to play video files using the Memory Viewer function?

No, it’s not possible to play video files using the Memory Viewer function. Memory Viewer supports still image files only. For details, please see Operation Manual: Chapter 5 – Operation of Function – Projecting with MEMORY VIEWER input – Images that can be played back with the Memory Viewer function here.

How do I check lamp usage time?

You can check the number of hours on your lamp light source by selecting [PROJECTOR SETUP] -> [STATUS] via the main menu. For details, see Operation Manual: Chapter 4 – Settings – [PROJECTOR SETUP] menu – [STATUS] here.

Is it possible to control multiple projectors with a single remote control?

Yes, up to six projectors can be controlled individually or simultaneously with one remote control by first setting the remote control code. To set up the projector, select [ALL] or [1] to [6] in the [PROJECTOR SETUP] -> [PROJECTOR ID] list in the main menu. To set up the remote control, press the ID SET button and enter the 1-digit ID number set on the projector by pressing the numeric buttons (<0> to <6>) within five seconds. If you press and hold the ID SET button on the remote control for more than three seconds, the ID number on the remote control is set to [ALL], and all projectors can be controlled regardless of the ID number setting of the projector. Are the zoom, focus, and lens-shift adjustments electric powered?

No, they are manual adjustment.

What is the difference between this projector and the PT-LB425 Series?

The main difference is the connection terminals: LB425 Series has one HDMI IN terminal, while LB426 Series (excluding PT-LB306) has two. In addition, while LB425 Series has a MONITOR OUT terminal for computer input, LB426 Series (excluding PT-LB306) replaces it with a COMPUTER 2 IN terminal shared with COMPUTER 1 OUT.

The fan keeps running while the projector is in standby. Is this normal?

This may be due to one of the following reasons:

(1) If [PROJECTOR SETUP] -> [ECO MANAGEMENT] -> [STANDBY MODE] is set to [NORMAL] and [PROJECTOR SETUP] -> [AUDIO SETTING] -> [IN STANDBY MODE] is set to [ON] in the main menu, the <ON (G) / STANDBY (R)> power indicator will blink red in a 2.75 to 0.25-second on/off cycle.

(2) If [PROJECTOR SETUP] -> [ECO MANAGEMENT] -> [POWER MANAGEMENT] is set to [READY], power management will activate if no input signal is detected for a certain period. In this case, the <ON (G) / STANDBY (R)> power indicator will blink green in a 2.0 to 2.0-second on/off cycle.

Does the projector support wireless LAN connection?

Yes, it does. However, you first need to connect either the optional Panasonic ET-WML100 or AJ-WM50 Series wireless module to your projector’s USB terminal.

What is the difference between PT-LB426 and PT-LW376?

The main differences are the resolution of the LCD panel and the light output. PT-LB426 has 1024 x 768-dot (XGA) resolution and light output of 4,100 lm, while PT-LW376 has 1280 x 800-dot (WXGA) resolution and light output of 3,600 lm.

At how many hours is it recommended to replace the lamp?

You should replace the lamp unit at 10,000 hours if the projector’s [LAMP POWER] is set to [NORMAL] or [QUIET] in the main menu, and at 20,000 hours if [LAMP POWER] is set to [ECO]. However, due to the characteristics of each lamp light source and individual usage conditions, the lamp may reach end of life before the times specified above. We recommend you keep a replacement lamp on hand to minimize unexpected downtime should the lamp reach end of life before the above times.

How do I replace the lamp?

Please follow the steps below when replacing the lamp light source of your projector:
(1) Switch off the projector and unplug the power cord from the outlet. Wait at least one hour to ensure the lamp unit and surrounds have cooled down.
(2) Remove the lamp cover by loosening the lamp cover fixing screw with a Phillips screwdriver until it turns freely.
(3) Loosen the lamp unit fixing screws (x3) with a Phillips screwdriver until they turn freely.
(4) Hold the lamp unit by its handles and pull it gently from the projector unit.
(5) Insert the replacement lamp unit in the correct direction. Tighten the lamp unit fixing screws (x3) securely.
(6) Attach the lamp cover and tighten the lamp cover fixing screw securely.

How do I reset the lamp usage time?

Please follow the below steps to reset the lamp usage time of your projector:
(1) Plug the power cord into the AC outlet and press the power button to turn on the projector.
(2) Press and hold the <Right> and <Up> arrow buttons on the projector’s control panel for eight seconds.
You can check the lamp usage time has been reset by navigating to [PROJECTOR SETUP] -> [STATUS] -> [RUNTIME] in the main menu and confirming that the lamp runtime is displayed as [0 H].

What is the model number of the replacement lamp?

The replacement lamp unit for this projector is ET-LAL510.

What is the model number of the replacement air filter?

The replacement filter unit for this projector is ET-RFL300.

Does the projector have a built-in speaker?

Yes, it does. A 10 W monaural speaker is built into the projector.

Is there a test pattern function built in?

Yes, there is. Select [PROJECTOR SETUP] -> [TEST PATTERN] in the main menu and press the ENTER button to display the test pattern with the [PATTERN CHANGE] operation guide. If you press the MENU button or RETURN button, test pattern display will be disabled, and you will return to the [PROJECTOR SETUP] sub-menu. I’m considering replacing my Panasonic projector. Can I still use the existing mount bracket?

No, unfortunately you cannot. PT-LB426 Series requires a dedicated ET-PKL100H ceiling mount bracket for high ceilings, or ET-PKL100S for low ceilings, for use with ET-PKL420B ceiling mount bracket attachment.
