The PT-LMZ460 and PT-LMW460 have different resolutions. The higher the resolution, the finer the projection quality. The PT-LMZ460 has WUXGA resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels). The PT-LMW460 has WXGA resolution (1280 x 800 pixels).
What is the difference between the PT-VW360 Series and the PT-LMZ460 Series?
The light sources are different. The PT-LMZ460 Series has a laser diode light source. The PT-VW360 Series has a lamp light source. Laser light sources have a longer lifespan compared to lamp light sources, with a gradual decrease in brightness over time, maintaining image quality and brightness for an extended period. Additionally, maintenance is simplified since no lamp replacement is needed, significantly reducing running costs.

Does the PT-LMZ460 Series have a shutter function?
The PT-LMZ460 Series features a Light Source Off shutter function. It does not have a mechanical shutter.
What is the Light Source Off shutter function?
The Light Source Off shutter function turns off the laser light source, preventing any light leakage from the lens so the screen is blank.
Does the PT-LMZ460 Series have a lens shift function?
No, the PT-LMZ460 Series does not feature lens shift capability.
Is the zoom adjustment manual?
Yes, the zoom adjustment is manual. You can adjust it using the zoom ring on the projector body.

Is it possible to temporarily turn off the projected image without turning off the projector?
Yes, it is. Pressing the <SHUTTER> button on the remote control or the projector’s control panel temporarily hides the projected image. Press the button again to restore the image. When the shutter function is active (Shutter: Closed), the power indicator <ON (G) / STANDBY (R)> will blink green in a cycle of 0.75 seconds on and 0.75 seconds off.
Does the PT-LMZ460 Series have a Direct Power On function, allowing the projector to be turned on immediately via the breaker or by plugging it into the outlet?
If [INITIAL STARTUP] is set to [ON] via [PROJECTOR SETUP] in the main menu, projection can start immediately.
Does the PT-LMZ460 Series have a Direct Power Off function, allowing the power to be turned off immediately after use?
Yes, it does.
Can the power be turned on and off directly via the breaker?
Yes. The PT-LMZ460 Series supports Direct Power Off, so it is possible to turn off the power from the breaker. Additionally, by setting [INITIAL STARTUP] to [ON] in [PROJECTOR SETUP] via the main menu, projection will start immediately when the power is turned on from the breaker.
How do I check the projector’s operating hours?
You can check the total number of operating hours on your projector by pressing the <SHUTTER> button on the remote control, or by selecting [PROJECTOR SETUP] → [STATUS] → [PROJECTOR RUNTIME] via the main menu.
How do I check laser light-source runtime?
You can check the number of hours on your laser light source by pressing the <SHUTTER> button on the remote control, or by selecting [PROJECTOR SETUP] → [STATUS] → [LIGHT RUNTIME] via the main menu.
Can the screen size be changed to a 4:3 aspect ratio?
You can change the aspect ratio by pressing the <MENU> button on the remote control or control panel and selecting [DISPLAY OPTION] → [SCREEN SETTING] → [SCREEN FORMAT] and setting it to [4:3].
Does the PT-LMZ460 Series support projection via wireless LAN?
Projection via wireless LAN is supported by connecting the optional AJ-WM50 Series Wireless Module to the projector’s USB port and using the free Presenter Light Software. Can video files be played using the MEMORY VIEWER function?

The PT-LMZ460 Series supports a MEMORY VIEWER function, allowing you to project still images stored on commercially available USB flash-memory devices. Note: Video files cannot be played. Is it possible to adjust the screen while a test pattern is being projected?
It is not possible to adjust the screen while projecting a test pattern.
Are screen correction adjustments retained after switching inputs?
Yes, screen correction adjustments remain after switching inputs.
What is the recommended ambient luminance level around the screen?
It is recommended to set the screen luminance so that the ambient environment maintains a contrast ratio of 20:1 relative to the projector’s light output. Can DC 5 V power be supplied from the USB port while the projector is on standby?
Yes, it can. If the standby mode is set to [NORMAL], the USB port will supply power in standby mode. Press the <MENU> button on the remote control or control panel and select [PROJECTOR SETUP] → [ECO MANAGEMENT] → [STANDBY MODE] and set it to [NORMAL].
Can the projector supply power to a PressIT receiver via its USB terminal?
Yes, it can. The projector’s USB terminal has a power supply rating of DC 5 V / max. 2 A, allowing it to power Panasonic’s optional PressIT receiver.
Note: This projector is incompatible with the TY-SB01WP Wireless Presentation Receiver Board.
Is it possible to prevent the projector from powering down when there’s no input signal?
Yes, it is. Change the following settings to keep the power supply on even when there’s no input signal: Set [PROJECTOR SETUP] → [ECO MANAGEMENT] → [POWER MANAGEMENT] to [OFF] via the main menu.
Can the projector power off automatically when there’s no input signal?
Yes, you can configure the projector’s Power Management function so the power supply switches off when no input signal is detected. If [PROJECTOR SETUP] → [ECO MANAGEMENT] → [POWER MANAGEMENT] is set to [SHUT DOWN] via the main menu and an input signal is not detected for 30 seconds, a countdown timer is displayed. When the time set in [TIMER] elapses, the light source turns off, and the projector enters standby mode after cooling.
Is there a function to automatically turn the projector on and off?
The PT-LMZ460 Series does not have a timer or scheduling function that automatically turns the power on and off.
Is there a function that turns the projector on when an image signal is input?
The PT-LMZ460 Series does not have an input signal detection function that automatically turns the power on and off.
Can audio input via AUDIO IN 1 be output when projecting content via HDMI IN 1?
Yes, it can. In the main menu, go to [PROJECTOR SETUP] → [AUDIO SETTING] → [HDMI 1] and set audio output to [AUDIO IN 1].
I want to output audio from the AUDIO OUT terminal. Is any setting required?
No setting is required. When a cable is connected to the AUDIO OUT terminal, audio will automatically output from this terminal. During this time, no sound will be emitted from the built-in speaker.
What is the Digital Zoom Extender function?
It is a feature that allows you to reduce the image size and display it within the screen when you need to project from a position farther than usual due to installation conditions.
Note: Using the Digital Zoom Extender feature will reduce the resolution. Additionally, when using this feature, the available screen adjustment functions and their ranges will be limited.

The OSD (On-Screen Display) menu is not displayed. Why?
The OSD may be set to [OFF]. Press the <ON SCREEN> button on the remote control to make the OSD visible. You can also unhide the OSD by pressing and holding the <MENU> button on the projector control panel for 3 seconds or longer.
Why is the remote control not responding?

How do I clean the air filter unit?
Please follow these guidelines when cleaning the air filter:
1. Soak the air filter in clean or lukewarm water and gently rinse.
2. Rinse thoroughly two to three times with fresh water.
3. Allow the filter to dry completely in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and dust.
The replacement interval for the air filter unit varies significantly depending on the usage environment. However, it is generally recommended to replace the filter unit with a new one after it has been cleaned approximately two times. Please note that filter performance after cleaning may be lower compared to a new unit.

Is it necessary to replace the light source after 20,000 hours of use?
We recommend having your dealer inspect and clean your projector and replace the laser light source after approximately 20,000 hours of use. While it is possible to continue using the projector after this time without replacing the light source, light output at about 20,000 hours will have decreased to approximately 50 % of its original level.
Why is laser light source replacement recommended at 20,000 hours?
The value of 20,000 hours is the estimated time at which your projector’s brightness will decrease to approximately 50% of its original level (measured at the time of shipment), under specific operating modes, altitude ranges, and environmental conditions. We also recommend you have your servicing agent clean the projector periodically.
The <ON (G) / STANDBY (R)> power indicator is flashing red periodically. What does this indicate?
If the <ON (G) / STANDBY (R)> power indicator is flashing red periodically, it indicates that the projector is in standby mode. Press the power button, and the projector will begin projection. No sound is coming from the built-in speaker. Why is this?
Please check if any of the following apply:
- If a cable is connected to the projector’s <AUDIO OUT> terminal, sound will not play through the built-in speakers.
- Is the volume set to “0”? Adjust it using the <VOL+> button on the remote.
- Is the sound muted? Press the mute button on the remote control.

- Verify that the device is being used within the 0–45°C temperature range specified in the Operating Instructions.
- Check if the air filter unit is dirty and if so, clean or replace the air filter unit.
- Do not use the device at altitudes above 2,700 meters.
