Lighthouse Immersive was commissioned to create an exhibit celebrating Vincent van Gogh in a 1,022-square-meter space at historic Toronto Star building. Explore FLOWERS BY NAKED, a newly expanded interactive flower-art event expressed through flower arrangement, objet, projection-mapped video, smell, and sound. The event was staged at Nijo-jo Castle under the theme “Phoenix” in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of Nijo-jo Castle’s registration as a World Heritage Site.
“Five Telegrams”, BBC Proms / Edinburgh International Festival (UK)
“Five Telegrams” is a multimedia work by composer Anna Meredith and 59 Productions. It was commissioned by 14-18 NOW, BBC Proms, and the Edinburgh International Festival to commemorate 100 years since the end of WWI, and comprised music synchronized with exterior projections over London’s Albert Hall and Edinburgh’s Usher Hall. At 5,000 and 3,000 square meters, the enormous surfaces were covered by 20 Panasonic PT-RZ31K projectors for Albert Hall and a further 10 units at Usher Hall, with higher brightness reducing the number of projectors required to achieve the requisite luminosity.

“The Stormrider”, WTC Expo, Leeuwarden (Netherlands)
Panasonic projectors were used to facilitate a sold-out musical theatre show called “The Stormrider” (a classic piece of German literature) which brought more than 100 Friesian horses on stage. Five PT-RZ31K projectors were used to project a picture-perfect stage background. The giant backdrop screen played a vital role as a horizon, with the video panorama giving context and depth to the story as well as adding wonder to the spectacle. “Light Odyssey”, 2018 Lightpool Festival (UK)
“Light Odyssey” opened the 2018 Lightpool Festival in Blackpool by combining orchestral music with projection mapping inside the Empress Ballroom. The event was developed by QED Productions, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and a team of digital artists. Blending images on the complex ceiling surface was described as like assembling a 24-piece jigsaw puzzle, with units fitted with ultra-short-throw lenses or installed at an angle to avoid obstructions.

“Into the Forest”, Waltham Forest (UK)
Awarded the first-ever Mayor’s London Borough of Culture, Waltham Forest celebrated its history in a festival of light and sound. Konica Minolta Planetarium Co., Ltd. opened KONICA MINOLTA PLANETARIA TOKYO in 2018, a direct-managed planetarium at the Yurakucho Marion complex in Chiyoda-ku. The facility includes two planetarium theaters—Digital Multi-purpose Theater (DOME1) and Planetarium Full-dome Theater (DOME2). DOME1 features an overwhelming projection covering the entire dome at up to 8K resolution. PT-RQ13KJ 3-Chip DLP™ 4K+ laser projectors each deliver 10,000 lumens of brightness. “Giudizio Universale”, Auditorium Conciliazione (Italy)
The Sistine Chapel, one of the most incredible locations in the history of the art world, is the focus of the Giudizio Universale. The spectacular presentation is an opportunity to revel in a pairing of theatrical performance with music and special effects made possible by excellent Panasonic video-projection products provided for the show. Eighteen PT-RZ31K with 31,000 lumens, 10 PT-RZ21K with 20,000 lumens, and two PT-RZ12K with 12,000 lumens are combined within the setting. During the immersive 270-degree projection, viewers can admire the phases marking the birth of Michelangelo’s “Last Judgement”.

“Northern Lights”, York Minster (UK)
Part of a four-year campaign to build an ongoing endowment for the protection and restoration of York Minster’s historic glass, artists Ross Ashton and Karen Monid were invited to deliver an immersive and intricately crafted sonic and visual work, “Northern Lights”. Ross of the Projection Studio used eight blended projectors to achieve the roof images and another three for the end wall, all Panasonic PT-DW17K2. The projected images covered the entirety of the 65 x 20 m nave vault and West Wall. The compact nature of the PT-DW17K2 makes it ideal for this type of application, meaning more space for guests.

“Welcome to Rome” is a multimedia space designed to tell the story of the Eternal City in just 30 minutes. Located in the center of Rome, it has been restructured to accommodate immersive projection and an innovative audio solution synchronized with the images. The main hall has 10 Panasonic PT-RZ570W projectors and a large sculptural relief, some 35 m2 on the floor, devoted to the city of Rome. The experience space has five different areas.
